Pangaea Express: McKesson aquisition of GMD

McKesson Canada announced its intent to acquire GMD PharmaSolutions (GMD), enhancing their specialty health services to patients, providers, payers and manufacturers.

McKesson stated:

"The acquisition of GMD will give McKesson a greater understanding of pharmacy care, helping us to improve our distribution expertise in specialty pharmaceuticals and practice management services available to providers and patients and solutions for manufacturers and payers."

GMD will operate as part of McKesson Canada Specialty.

GMD’s management team have all agreed to continue with GMD in their current roles and be a part of McKesson Canada. The transaction is subject to approval by the Canadian Competition Bureau. In the meantime it will remain business as usual for employees, patients and partners for both GMD and McKesson Canada.
