Jimmy is a highly accomplished pharmacy leader with over 30 years of experience driving patient care excellence and innovation within complex healthcare settings. Jimmy brings a wealth of knowledge and insight across both the public and private sectors, having led in both hospital pharmacy as well as specialty pharmacy environments. Through his tenure leading pharmacy departments at major academic and large community hospitals, most recently as Director of Pharmacy at SickKids for 8 years, Jimmy has gained a deep understanding of diverse hospital ecosystems. hospital budgeting processes, and hospital funding issues. Jimmy has chaired multiple hospital committees including Pharmacy and Therapeutics, He has been a member of the key Clinical Trials oversight committees and Research Ethics boards, gaining critical understanding on research activities. He has significant experience in procurement from his years of being a member of the Pharmacy Committee for a major Group Purchase Organization as well as having spearheaded various RFPs for both pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. Beyond the hospital environment, his role as Director of Pharmacy at one of Canada’s largest specialty pharmacies has provided him with a wealth of experience in understanding how to optimize collaboration with pharmaceutical manufacturers. He orchestrated seamless integration between pharmacy services and patient support programs. His specialty pharmacy expertise also includes navigating the complexities of specialty medications reimbursement (for both public and private payors), leveraging various patient supports (e.g. free goods, financial aid initiatives) to enhance accessibility to vital medications, and working with pharmaceutical manufacturers. A champion of data-driven decision making, Jimmy created powerful data analytic tools in multiple organizations. These tools have yielded tangible results, including over $1 million in cost savings through insightful analysis and optimization of resources. Jimmy’s understanding in navigating hospital and specialty pharmacy ecosystems, coupled with his passion for patient care and innovation, makes him an invaluable asset for Pangaea clients.
